Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier
Monai is a purebred Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. She was born in November of 2018 in a family home in Kansas where her mother’s people are amateur dog breeders, like us. We were fortunate enough to get the pick of their litter in January of 2019 and a very bouncy 8-week-old Monai chose us as much as we chose her.
Monai is an intelligent, energetic, and very friendly Wheaten. She’s a great inside dog, but definitely loves the outdoors as well, spending several hours each day in our front and back yards. Monai gets very excited when we go on drives to the mountains and rivers of North Georgia for weekend adventures. She is known for swimming out into the Chattahoochee in vain pursuit of Canada Geese.
We get tons of compliments on both her looks and behavior and our vet, who breeds poodles, says that she is the best Wheaten that he has met in terms of appearance and demeanor. Originally, we were not planning on breeding Monai, but she is such a lovely girl that we decided that her genes are well-worth passing on.
Monai’s pre-pregnancy average adult weight was about 31pounds. Her height, from the top of the shoulder blades to the floor, is 19 inches and her length, from the base of the neck to the tail, is 22 inches. Her birthdate was November 9th, 2018.
The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is a non-shedding, hypoallergenic breed. A typical Wheaten, Monai was brown with black markings on her face as a puppy and transitioned to the classic “wheaten” (blonde) color as she matured. Some of her puppy photos are shown in our photo gallery.
